DESTINY Age of Triumph is the final big event before Destiny 2. Check out the release time, price, release date, launch trailer and more ahead of the PS4 and Xbox One launch.
Destiny Age of Triumph’s March 28 release date is FINALLY here, as Bungie treats PS4 and Xbox One fans to one last hurrah before the launch of Destiny 2.
Destiny Age of Triumph has a 10am PDT release time, which means UK fans can expect the update and patch at 6pm GMT. It begins with a Quest available from the Speaker, which is available for all classes.
In terms of price, the good news is that Age of Triumph is completely free of charge, although you must have Rise of Iron to access it. It’s also only available on PS4 and Xbox One.
Before we get into what’s included in the big Destiny Age of Triumph event, it’s worth pointing out that the Weekly Heroic Strike and Weekly Nightfall Playlists will be unavailable from 10am UK time on March 28 until update 2.6.0 launches at 6pm.
Attempting to launch either of these activities during this period will result in Error Code Honeydew.
Bungie has also treated fans to a preview of the update 2.6.0 patch notes, which includes…
- Updated Crucible Daily Bounties to be more inclusive, no longer requiring specific Subclasses or Fireteams
- Fixed an issue where a player on the surviving team could use Fireborn to cause the round to continue even when all enemies were dead
- Fixed an issue that allowed Supers to stay activated longer than intended
As for Age of Triumph, Bungie describes it as a celebration of all things Destiny. it’s available on PS4 and Xbox One, but not Xbox 360 and PS3.
“For three years, Guardians have fought the Darkness,” reads a Bungie blog post. “They have defended the City and everything it stands for. And hope, once lost, has sprung up in every heart. Now the City celebrates its Guardians and all they have done.”
As such, Age of Triumph lets players earn or purchase the Treasure of Ages box, which features every every Eververse item to date, as well as a new weapons, armour and more.
You can see a selection of Age of Triumph weapons and armour in the gallery above.
Players can also complete new and reprised quests and replay story missions in Heroic mode via new weekly playlists.
There’s an opportunity earn emblems and other commemorative rewards from the largest Record Book in Destiny history, while Strikes will be available with a new Daybreak modifier.
Updated Raids with Challenges Modes are arguably the biggest draw, as Bungie brings them up to endgame levels.
There will new armour sets for each of the Raids, including Vault of Glass, Crota’s End and King’s Fall. The Crota’s End and King’s Fall sets lose colour when taking damage and are only restored when your health recharges.
All Raids now include a 390 Light Heroic Mode and come with new challenges.
As Bungie explains: “Both Vault of Glass and Crota’s End have been enhanced with their own new Boss Challenges. A Weekly Featured Raid has been added to the Director which will activate all Challenges for the selected Raid and provide the best rewards.”
Completing the weekly featured Raid unlocks new Mastery Tokens for Raid Ornaments. The Raid schedule can be found below…
- Crota’s End – First Week
- Vault of Glass – Second Week
- King’s Fall – Third Week
