In a busy day for Backwards Compatibility news, Microsoft confirmed that Borderlands 2, Assassin’s Creed Rogue, The King of Fighters 2002 Unlimited Match, Gyromancer, Moon Diver and Space Invaders Infinity Gene have all joined the service on Xbox One.

The well timed Xbox One update launches ahead of March’s Games with Gold refresh, which actually includes Borderlands 2.

Borderlands 2 will be free from March 1 until midnight on March 15, when it will be replaced by Heavy Weapon.

Xbox One users who already own Borderlands 2 – or any of the other Backwards Compatibility classics – will be able to insert their old discs and start playing immediately.

Likewise, if you own the digital version of the game, you can download it from the My Games and Apps section of the dashboard.
