Video: Digital Foundry Highlights the Nintendo Switch Boost in FAST RMX Overview:
With the relative closeness (on a technical level) between the two versions of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, early curiosity around the Switch has focused on how much of a boost it truly offers over Wii U. It’s evidently not an enormous leap, but it’s not necessarily been fair to characterise it as a portable Wii U, either.
Of course, with all systems it takes time for developers to get ‘close to the metal’, as such, and extract maximum performance. An early indicator of what the Switch can do compared to Wii U is out there though, with Shin’en’s FAST RMX. This studio has proven masterful at making Nintendo hardware sing and did impressive things with FAST Racing NEO on Wii U – now Digital Foundry assesses the upgrade of the remixed release on Switch.
All told it’s a notable improvement, with the studio evidently enjoying the resources available to them in the Switch.
It’s a positive result, and Digital Foundry was also relatively pleased with the Switch version of I Am Setsuna.
