For gamers of a certain age, Yooka-Laylee, a new IP, still manages to hold sway over them with strong nostalgia. Its ties to the beloved Banjo-Kazooie trailers are strong, and this time around we’re not going to have to accept being a Nintendo or Microsoft exclusive. Yooka-Laylee is coming to PC in April next year, bringing back the long dormant collectathon platformer for a brand new era. Before you pre-order it and get access to the Toybox bonus however, make sure to check out Yooka-Laylee’s official system requirements.
Yooka-Laylee was never going to be a hugely favorite game, but it’s nice to see it come in with a fair set of system requirements. Playtonic hasn’t given the recommended specs yet, so in all likelihood you’re going to get good performance out of a rig somewhere along these lines.
The more demanding aspects are undoubtedly the CPU and the memory. By today’s standards they’re not likely to worry many PC gamers however – 8GB is a repeated minimum RAM requirement these days, while both the Intel Core i5-2500 and the FX-8150 are beginning to show their age.
As for the graphics cards, there’s a little bit of a gulf in performance between the GeForce GTS 450 and AMD’s Radeon HD 6850. If we take Nvidia’s as the minimum, a Radeon HD 5750 should be able to cut it. Any graphics card from the Radeon R9 / R7 or Nvidia GeForce GTX 700 series and upwards needs to be more than capable of running Yooka-Laylee at high settings.
Yooka-Laylee PC Minimum System Requirements:
- OS: Windows 7 64-bit.
- CPU: Intel Core i5-2500 3.3 GHz or AMD FX-8150 3.6 GHz.
- RAM: 8 GB System Memory.
- GPU: Nvidia GeForce GTS 450 or AMD Radeon HD 6850.
- DX: DirectX 11.
- HDD: 9 GB Installation Size.
